About the Organization and Our Community
The Hocking County Chamber of Commerce was
established to encourage balanced economic growth and enhanced quality of life
for the citizens of the Logan-Hocking Community. The Chamber works closely with
city and county officials to promote economic growth, retention and expansion of
current businesses
A local, volunteer board of directors and a full-time
executive director guide the Chamber's efforts to keep Hocking County as a great
place to live and work.
Life in the Hocking Hills offers safety, essential services,
proximity to culture, shopping, major sports and entertainment.
Hocking County was created in 1818 from sections of Ross,
Fairfield, Athens Counties and has been home to native Americans known as Mound
Builders and the Shawnee as well as European traders and settlers. Logan is named
for a famous Mingo Indian Chief.
The City of Logan is the county seat of Hocking County. It is
situated in the center of the system of Hocking area parks. The industrial sector
of the area's economy includes clay and slag products, metal assemblies, wood and
paper products, and office supplies.
